  • Economist from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo.
  • Works in the areas of corporate law, corporate governance, compliance and forensic investigations.
  • Postgraduate in finance (MBA) from IBMEC – Instituto Brasileiro do Mercado de Capitais (1987).
  • Graduated in Legal Sciences from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (2014).
  • Vice-President and President of APIMEC – Brazilian Association of Capital Market Analysts and Professionals (1999-2001).
  • First chairman (2011-2013) of the Capital Markets Analysts Supervisory Board, a body regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM).
  • Member of the Capital Markets Committee of the Brazilian Bar Association.
  • He has worked for more than 25 years in Brazil’s financial and capital markets, excelling in the areas of equity analysis, corporate finance and asset management at various institutions.
  • He has participated in the main initiatives to modernize the Brazilian capital market over the last two decades
  • He collaborates with the most important law, finance and economics publications in Brazil.
  • He was a member of the Petrobras Board of Directors from July 2015 to December 2018, Chairman of the Appointment, Remuneration and Succession Committee, member of the Statutory Audit Committee, member of the Oil Exploration and Production Affairs Committee and member of the Minorities Committee. As a board member, he led the negotiation of the company’s settlement with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), both US government agencies.
  • He is currently a Member of the Board of Directors – Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras since April 2022.
  • Member of the Audit Committee of the Mapfre Group (Brazil) since October 2020.
  • Elected after the approval of SUSEP (Superintendence of Private Insurance) to this body, he supervises, through COAUD, all five Group companies in Brazil.
  • Member of the Supervisory Board of Vivest (formerly Funcesp) since January 2024.
  • Between May 2017 and April 2018 he was vice-chairman of BRF’s Board of Directors, re-elected again for the 2017-2019 term, during which time he was coordinator of its Audit and Integrity Committee and a member of the Finance, Risk Management and Corporate Governance Committee.
  • He has led several independent corporate investigations committees, appointed by corporate governance bodies.
  • Author of books on politics, law and economics.
